Museums and culture
Here are some of the projects we are proud of and currently working on. We develop custom digital products for everyone, from start-ups to government agencies.

Raad van de Raaf
Wereldmuseum Amsterdam introduces a new, interactive children's exhibition with Raad van de Raaf. Here, young adventurers dive into the world of climate change and playfully discover how they themselves can make a positive difference for our planet. For this experience, after the successful Sabi Suriname app, Zooma developed a new app in collaboration with the museum.

World Museum
After the Sabi Suriname app for the Wereldmuseum, Zooma was brought in to collaborate on the Tag The Picture project. Zooma built an advanced website with a module in which volunteers can very precisely mark and tag objects on photos. A challenging project for both our front- and backend developers with a fantastic result!

Naturalis
Together with Naturalis, we built a knowledge platform for the taxonomy of pollinators. Through the Pollinator Academy, interested parties can follow modules on the taxonomy of bees, butterflies, and other pollinators.

TMSQR
Since 2015, TMSQR has been busy creating awesome festival apps for music, theater, movies and all kinds of other cultural festivals. Together with the great team at TMSQR, Zooma as the tech partner is building step by step the ultimate festival app.

Museum de Lakenhal
Since 2019, Zooma has been helping to build the apps for the fantastic Museum De Lakenhal in our home town of Leiden. In collaboration with the team at De Lakenhal and the designers and backend developers at Fabrique, we keep making the successful apps a little more beautiful.

Tropenmuseum
Zooma developed an Android 'after-experience' app for Tropenmuseum Junior! The app was created specifically for 'Sabi Suriname'; an exhibition about Suriname, its connection to the Netherlands and its shared colonial history.

Speurroutes
Those who scavenge see more! Zooma developed the app (PWA) for Speurroutes! Speurroutes NL develops, you guessed it, tracking routes through Dutch cities. Enjoy wandering through cities, searching for tips and clues. This is how you never saw the city before.

Leiden University
How did people speak thousands of years ago? And what did these languages sound like? The Vanished Voices app for Android and iOS answers these questions. This app from Leiden University takes you back in the history of language to 4500 BC.

The largest museum in the Netherlands
Commissioned by Museum Catharijneconvent and design agency Fabrique, Zooma developed an Android audio tour app that makes the hidden church treasures of the Netherlands accessible.

Kraken in Leiden
Commissioned by Leiden University, Zooma has put part of Leiden's history (literally!) on the map. The 'Kraken in Leiden' app contains more than 300 interesting squatting stories and a fascinating city walk along historic buildings!
What we are working on now
We are working on a website with all bees to define images and features.
We apply gamification in an app to reduce tension, anxiety and stress during a hospital visit for children.

Zooma joins Dutch Digital Agencies!
Recently, two of our project managers attended the very first PM Day organized by Dutch Digital Agencies (DDA) in Utrecht. DDA is a new network of similar digital agencies in the Netherlands, focused on sharing knowledge and helping each other improve. For Tom and Thomas, it was a great opportunity to spend an afternoon brainstorming with colleagues about the PM profession.

From Qodana to Storybook.js: Zooma's 'sharing hour' inspires
The 'sharing hour' is an inspiring regular feature at the beginning of every themed get-together at Zooma in which colleagues briefly and powerfully present their recent projects and results. During this informal moment, developers, project leaders, designers and others briefly show what they are proud of; this can vary from completed customer projects, self-thought innovative concepts, to results from special internal sessions such as the Fanatical Friday. The goal is to inspire each other, increase involvement and make clear what everyone within the growing company is working on.
