Working at Zooma

Looking for a great (graduate) internship? Join our multidisciplinary team of 16 developers, designers and strategists. Small but nice, down to earth and at the same time big enough to build complex digital products for very nice customers. The common thread in what we do is that every project is customized; no project is the same and we work for clients active in very diverse sectors.

From our own coworking building De Dorus we build technically challenging apps, websites and digital platforms for health insurers, universities, energy companies and the European Union. But we also work on smaller experimental digital products for startups, research projects, student associations, museums and of course our own'Zooma Ventures' such as TimeSquare. A perfect mix of projects if you ask us!

What we are looking for.

We have room for two (or sometimes three if we can't choose :-)) interns every internship period. So four to six per year. Zooma is not a big company, and we want to offer an excellent customized guidance, and also really get something out of the internship, so that's the max. Mostly computer science internships but also e.g. design and communication internships are possible.

Your internship project: After getting acquainted we will look together for an assignment that suits you (ambitions) and at the same time is of added value to Zooma. The most important goal is; what you build or think up must actually go live, must actually be used. An internship at Zooma is not just for fun, but for real. An internship project, on which you have worked very hard for 5 months, and we also invest a lot of time, should not end up on a dusty shelf in a closet. That would be a shame!

The collaboration: During your internship, you will have an internship supervisor who will support you throughout the process and is the contact person for your education. But you are the boss of your project, you determine the direction. And it is your responsibility to involve the right experts within Zooma at the right time. Do you need a design or do you want to spar about designs; schedule a meeting with one of the digital designers. Are you stuck in a code issue, or do you want to have your code reviewed, ask one of the senior developers for help.

So far, all interns at Zooma have succeeded. And not with the least bit of marks! Twice even with a 10. We are proud of that. And very nice projects and companies have come out of the internship projects; for example Hospital Hero, a project of the LUMC. And our own ventures such as TimeSquare, The Dorus, Youmie and OETVET (still top secret ;-)).

What we offer

No one is the same, thankfully, and we will do everything we can to ensure that the time you spend with the Zooma team is enjoyable and familiar. Zooma is certainly not perfect, as a company we also learn every day, but the lines are short and we can move quickly.

Diverse and challenging work: we build digital products for everyone; from startups to multinationals. No project is the same and always customized. Left or right, we deliver top quality.

A very nice workplace: you work from De Dorus; Zooma's own coworking building where we work (and have drinks ;-)) on great projects with about 15 other companies from the creative industry.

Hybrid working: it's fine if you occasionally spend a day at home working on your internship report but we recommend you sit as close as possible to the senior developers during your internship ;-)

Daily lunch: we have lunch together in the cafe of De Dorus. Just cozy, setting the table together for the healthy lunch. And if you miss something, we will gladly order it for you.

Drinks, labs, events: De Dorus coworkers get-togethers, gaming and table tennis during the friday afternoon drinks, going out / eating out with each other and Zooma labs. As an intern, you belong all the way!

Internship remuneration: you will receive an internship remuneration of €400 per month.
