Working at Zooma

Join our multidisciplinary team of 16 developers, designers and strategists. Small but nice, down to earth and at the same time big enough to build complex digital products for very nice clients. The common thread in what we do is that every project is customized; no project is the same and we work for clients active in very diverse sectors.

From our own coworking building De Dorus we build technically challenging apps, websites and digital platforms for health insurers, universities, energy companies and the European Union. But we also work on smaller experimental digital products for startups, research projects, student associations, museums and of course our own'Zooma Ventures' such as TimeSquare. A perfect mix of projects if you ask us!

What we are looking for

At Zooma, you will work closely with our permanent team of 16 professionals consisting of a healthy mix of seniors and juniors. From our spacious office in De Dorus, all of us working from one location, everyone knows each other through and through, and Zooma's three founders, each with more than 15 years of experience, also help build the projects. We work hard but never over, and the atmosphere in the office is open and relaxed.

Team. As a front-end developer, you will be part of an experienced team of backend and app developers, UX/UI designers, an architect and a project manager. You are primarily a front-end developer, but depending on your interests, we will give you plenty of room to develop yourself broadly. In fact, we welcome it! Most developers at Zooma have a certain expertise but are now 'full stack' developers.

Agile / scrum. During the sprint planning and daily standups, you think about the functionalities to be built. During the sprint you pick up your stories independently and help your teammates, and vice versa. And together with the whole team you deliver the sprint (proudly :-)) to the customer and the end users. So you are involved from A to Z.

What we offer

No one is the same, thankfully, and we will do everything we can to ensure that the time you spend with the Zooma team is enjoyable and familiar. Zooma is certainly not perfect, as a company we also learn every day, but the lines of communication are short and we can move quickly.

Diverse and challenging work: we build digital products for everyone; from startups to multinationals. No project is the same and always customized. Left or right, we deliver top quality.

A very nice workplace: you work from De Dorus; Zooma's own coworking building where we work (and have drinks ;-)) on great projects with about 15 other companies from the creative industry.

Hybrid working: in principle, Mondays and Fridays are fixed office days. The rest of the week you can decide whether to come to the office or work from home.

Daily lunch: we have lunch together in the cafe of De Dorus. Just cozy, setting the table together for the healthy lunch. And if you miss something, we will gladly order it for you :-)

An excellent salary: depending on your experience you get a nice salary + vacation allowance. Twice a year we discuss together how you have developed within the Zooma team.

Annual bonus: if the possibility exists, Zooma pays out an annual bonus to everyone who has contributed, divided in proportion to the salary earned in that year.

Pension contribution: we think it is important that you think about your pension. We do leave the choice of whether and how to do so to you by paying you a pension contribution.

Vacation days: You get 25 vacation days based on full-time work (40 hours per week). And if you want to go on a nice long trip around the world, that is always negotiable of course!

Macbook, phone etc: We will provide you with the resources you need to do your job well. Think of a phone, laptop or when necessary home office supplies.

Travel allowance: in principle we are in favor of biking to work. You can lease a bike through Zooma. But of course you can also get an NS card or a travel allowance.

Drinks, labs, events: De Dorus coworkers get-togethers, gaming and table tennis during the friday afternoon drinks, going out / eating out with each other, Zooma labs and every two years a big trip together!

Study, courses, fairs: we as Zooma want to stay on top of the latest tech & design developments. So if you see something fun: 'do it' and share the knowledge gained during Zooma Labs.

Overtime: in principle, we don't workovertime! :-) It can always happen that we need your help outside office hours. But that will be very rarely, just ask Zooma people!
