A Home Game: The 3 October App

At Zooma, we work on many different projects: for government agencies, multinationals, small and medium-sized businesses, and exciting startups. It’s great work, and we’re all proud of every single project. But for us Leideners, one project is a real home game—and a true honor: the 3 October app. The entire program for Leidens Ontzet—the world’s biggest Leiden festival—right in your pocket.

A brief history: In 1574, after months of starvation, the Spanish siege of Leiden finally came to an end. The Geuzen brought herring and white bread, while the Spaniards left their stew untouched—and 452 years later, we’re still celebrating it here as if it were yesterday.

We’re developing the 3 October app for the 3 October Vereeniging through our label TMSQR. Through TMSQR, we work in Leiden on projects such as the Nacht van Ontdekkingen and Museumnacht Leiden festivals, but we’ve since expanded to festivals in 26 countries: right now, there’s a festival underway in Vienna and one in Warsaw, and we’re on the verge of launching our first American festivals. The only place where things haven’t quite taken off yet is Spain. Old wounds, we suspect ;-)

In the app, you’ll find the full program for Leidens Ontzet, the latest news, the songs for the Koraal, and a push notification if anything changes. That way, you won’t miss a thing—from reveille to the Grand Parade.

Download the 3 October app (iOS / Android) and see you on October 3. Leiden Ontzet! ❤️🤍
