The Lakenhal app nominated for the RAAK Incentive Award!

In collaboration with Fabrique, Zooma developed the app for Museum De Lakenhal last year and now we have the chance to make it even better. The project 'Looking with your fingers' allows De Lakenhal to make their collection accessible to the blind and visually impaired. Will we get your vote?

The "Looking with your fingers" concept offers people with visual impairments a unique art experience. Top pieces from the collection are divided into a grid in the app. A unique soundscape is developed for each surface, bringing the artwork to life through audio descriptions, sounds and music. Depending on where your finger is on the screen, you will automatically hear the corresponding audio clip. Moving your finger across the screen has the advantage of giving you a better idea of how the different parts of the artwork relate to each other. And because the image automatically zooms in on the spot where your finger is, people with limited vision can also view the details of the artwork through their screen. Literally looking with your fingers, in other words!

With your help, we can make something great! Does this great idea get your vote? You can vote here!
