From Qodana to Storybook.js: Zooma's 'sharing hour' inspires
The 'sharing hour' is an inspiring regular feature at the beginning of every themed get-together at Zooma in which colleagues briefly and powerfully present their recent projects and results. During this informal moment, developers, project leaders, designers and others briefly show what they are proud of; this can vary from completed customer projects, self-thought innovative concepts, to results from special internal sessions such as the Fanatical Friday. The goal is to inspire each other, increase involvement and make clear what everyone within the growing company is working on.

Security first with Qodana SAST
During the previous 'sharing hour', Jasper and Nick shared their experiences with Qodana, an advanced Static Application Security Testing (SAST) tool. Qodana helps developers proactively detect security risks in applications even before the software goes live. Jasper and Nick demonstrated how Zooma effectively uses this tool to structurally improve code, detect and eliminate potential vulnerabilities, and how Zooma can best configure and apply Qodana within its projects. Thanks to Qodana, awareness around security is raised and secure, high-quality code is a natural part of the development process.
Scalable components with Storybook.js
Gaj also made a valuable contribution to this brag by sharing his knowledge about Storybook.js. Storybook.js is a powerful tool that allows developers to easily build and test reusable, scalable components for Web applications in isolated environments. This not only increases product quality, but also makes the development process significantly more efficient. Gaj shared how, during a recent collaboration with Naturalis, he saw how effectively Storybook.js was deployed, leading to improved workflow and clearer documentation. By sharing his experience and insights, he inspired all of us to also explore and apply this innovative method within projects.
Minigame tournament to close the week
To round off the week, we unpacked in our own cafeteria with our Mario themed party. We formed teams and played a series of office minigames: pool, table tennis, table soccer and, of course, Mario Kart. The perfect mix of competition and relaxation, just as you would expect from a team full of techies. Everything was themed: from the snacks and drinks to the decor.
Through short presentations like these, we find that our entire Zooma team stays sharp, inspired and connected, and innovation and continuous improvement become permanent parts of the company culture.
